Short Bio
Evelyn Hadden has been writing about ecological gardening, lawn alternatives, and ideas for shrinking your lawn since 2001, when she started the informational website LessLawn.com. She gardens in Minnesota and travels across the country speaking to other gardeners. She has authored two books and is working on a third; her recent book Shrink Your Lawn: Design ideas for any landscape is an expanded version of her "Design Ideas" talk and won a silver medal from Independent Publisher's 2009 Living Now Book Awards. Hadden is one of the nine members of the new national Lawn Reform Coalition.

Evelyn J. Hadden has been writing and publishing information about nature-friendly, chemical-free, do-it-yourself, low-maintenance landscaping since 2001, when she founded the informational website LessLawn.com. She gardens in Minnesota and travels across the country speaking to other gardeners about ecological gardening, lawn alternatives, and ideas for shrinking your lawn.
Her first book, Apprentice to a Garden, chronicles the joys, challenges, and life lessons she experienced while converting a small urban lawn into a naturalistic landscape. Her recent book Shrink Your Lawn: Design ideas for any landscape won a silver medal in the Independent Publisher's 2009 Living Now Book Awards for promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Hadden is a member of the nine-person national Lawn Reform Coalition launched in September 2009 to spread information about eco-friendly lawn care, regionally appropriate lawn species, and lawn alternatives.
